Huckabee's campaign? Is the story that he did so much with so little? Is it that he was a great candidate that was thwarted by GOP insiders? Is it that he would have been the nominee if the media, Evangelical leaders, and populists had recognized his appeal earlier? Would he have been the nominee if he could have mustered a little more money? Did attacks on his conservative credentials stymie the most consistent conservative in the race? Or will he be seen as a lingerer who wanted to stay in longer than he should have for personal aggrandizement? Was he just in the race to split the conservative vote and give the nomination to a moderate? Is Huck the early favorite next go around? Where does he go from here: VP, Evangelical leader, CNN contributer, Cayman Island lecture circuit, Chuck Norris' body double?

With Huck's appearances on SNL, the Daily Show, the Colbert Report, etc, he should take up comedy. He has a nice flair for self-deprecating humor, without humiliating himself. However, although his campaign was an interesting one, built largely on grass roots, which is in itself very admirable, he may have overstayed his welcome for Mac and lost his potential shot at being VP. That said, Mac's in no hurry to name someone, and Huck could get back in good graces. His appeal as a VP candidate has been discussed in other postings, so I won't go into it...but my opinion is still that he won't get the VP nod. He's not maverick enough for Mac. He just doesn't fit the Mac mold. Mac will choose someone that will likely surprise us all (maybe a recently legalized immigrant if his immigration bill goes back to the floor).

mikehuckabee2012.blogspot.com/2008/03/million-dollar-question-what-should.htmlThis blogger thinks that Huck should be the standard bearer for the Fair Tax. My guess is that Huck is more interested in leading the Evangelical movement, but from a political stand-point our blogger friend might be right - I just don't know. I'd be interested to here from our Huckabee supporter friends or even the author.
